Seabird Island Band - Fire Hall Addition and Renovation

The project will renovate and expand the Seabird Island Fire Hall to ensure there is ample space to properly physically distance in the Hall. The improvements will also increase the size of the bays in order to house modern fire apparatus. The fire hall services approximately 1000 people on reserve and has a mutual aid agreement with the neighbouring community of the District of Kent. The fire hall was originally constructed in 1982 and is not capable of housing modern fire apparatus in the current fleet. Additionally, the fire hall has only one bathroom and no designated space for training. Expanding washroom and training space will better allow the fire department to follow COVID-19 protocols. The project works include: -construction of an addition; -additional washroom space; -install showers; -gear room; and -additional training space.
