Searles Valley Minerals is partnering with GlassPoint to replace the last two coal-fired power plants at its manufacturing facility in Trona, California, with solar thermal technology. The project involves installing 750 MWth of solar thermal technologies to reduce carbon emissions by up to half a million metric tons of CO2 per year, using GlassPoint's Enclosed Trough technology and Unify storage system to provide continuous heat and power.
