The seating replacement project (the Project) involves rehabilitation work to the Centre In The Square theatre seating and accessibility infrastructure. The Project scope involves: • the replacement of 1881 fixed theatre seats installed in 1998 that are past the end of their serviceable life; • the reconfiguration of some theatre seating to allow for additional accessible seating in locations that permit access directly from the ground floor of the theatre’s main lobby; and • the replacement of the theatre’s A lift elevator machinery and the refurbishment of the B lift elevator machinery and the replacement of four seating wagons located on the two orchestra pit lifts used to remove and store theatre seats located on the orchestra pit. The Project will result in improved accessibility and seating for visitors.
