Sechelt - Active Transportation Network Expansion

The project will improve active transportation by completing a new active transportation corridor to connect West Sechelt and West Porpoise Bay to Downtown Sechelt. The project will also include access to West Sechelt Elementary and Kinnikinnick Elementary schools. The project will provide a safe means to move within the community for all ages. The path will connect 3 areas of town creating a safe network for walking, bicycling around the community. The project will also design a future of pathway for future addition to the community’s active transportation network. The project works include: • construction of the Mason Road active transportation corridor from Highway 101 to Norwest Bay Road; • construction of the Mason Road Multi-use Pathway, from Norwest Bay Road to Reeves Road; • Preparatory work for active transportation improvements on Reeves Road from Mason Road to Crowson Trail; • construction of active transportation improvements on Crowston Trail, including a portion of the trail on Ripple Way; • preparatory work for active transportation improvements on Ripple Way Road, from Kinnikinnick Elementary School to Kinnikinnick Park; • design and engineering of Burnett Road Multi-use Pathway, from the Ocean to Sechelt Inlet Road, & Sechelt Inlet Road active transportation corridor, from Burnett Road to Provincial Park Boundary to prepare for future construction; • installation of drainage and culverts as required; and, • all related works.
