Description | 15 green hydrogen projects have won bids in the second European Hydrogen Bank auction, securing a combined €992 million in funding via the Innovation Fund. The winning bids will receive grants based on their production over ten years, with final agreements expected to be signed in September or October 2025. The auction was launched in February with a budget of up to €1 billion for green hydrogen projects. The second auction included a 25% limit on the use of Chinese electrolysers. Spain, Lithuania, and Austria have agreed to top up the auction with up to €836 million towards projects in their countries via the 'auctions-as-a-service' feature. A third €1 billion auction is planned for the end of 2025. |
