Description
Description | Improvement of 6.8m bridge would reduce safety concerns due to deteriorating physical condition. Installation of new guiderails and end treatments would enhance vehicle safety at approaches. Improved and/or more reliable bridge asset. This project involves the demolition, removal and disposal of the existing concrete bridge and the installation of a new rigid frame concrete culvert approximately 6.8m in length. A temporary cofferdam will be constructed to safely move water around the site. A new roadway with approaches will be constructed over the new structure and side slopes will be constructed. The installation of guiderail, end treatments, hydroseeding of the site and structural testing will all be included in the project. Rehabilitated bridge to resolve serious degradation from recent significant traffic loading. Improve current width which is insufficient for trucks & farm equipment. Improve main travel corridor used by residents of neighboring Oneida Nation of the Thames, Chippewas of the Thames & Munsee-Delaware Nation. To allow unrestricted use by winter service & emergency mutual aid vehicles, farm equipment & public traffic. |
