Second Phase Petroleum Pipeline Extension from Amlekhgunj to Lothar

The project involves the extension of South Asia's first cross-border petroleum pipeline from Amlekhgunj in Bara to Lothar in Chitwan, Nepal, with Indian government assistance. It includes laying a 10.75-inch diameter pipeline over 62 kilometers, constructing a petroleum storage facility with a three-month capacity, and building a state-of-the-art Greenfield terminal in Rapti Municipality-1, Lothar. The pipeline will pump petroleum products directly from the Indian Oil Corporation's Motihari depot to Lothar, aiming to reduce environmental impact, fuel theft, and adulteration while providing local employment opportunities.
