The objective of the Second State Modernization Project of Argentina aims at deepening and expanding client engagement to help strengthen the capacity of the Chief of Cabinet Office (CCO) to (i) carry out its mandate on key public sector management areas, enhancing capacities on organizational strengthening, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and knowledge-building; and (ii) support the design and promotion of the use of key public sector management tools. There are 3 components to the Project: Component 1 is Institutional Strengthening of the CCO, which will strengthen the capacity of the CCO to fulfill its mandate in selected areas, particularly to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate priority policies and programs; provide support for its organizational strengthening in key areas; and support the institutional strengthening of investment promotion; Component 2 is Strengthening Key Public Sector Management Instruments, which will develop, consolidate and expand public sector management tools and capacities, including: e-government, procurement, human resource management, quality management and access to information; and Component 3 is Project Management, which will finance standard project management activities, including: financial management and procurement and M&E of project implementation.
