Description

Description

The project will reconstruct the sanitary sewer, watermain and storm drainage on portions of Second Street and Bay Road in Moosonee, Ontario. The work will involve: replacing 575 metres of sanitary sewer and seven (7) manholes; replacing 340 metres of watermain along with hydrants and valves; and improving storm drainage by undertaking 1100 metres of roadside ditching, installing culverts and adjusting stormwater inlets. The project will improve clean water and wastewater service by reducing sanitary sewer breaks and backups in residential and commercial properties, lowering contamination and environmental hazards due to sewage infiltration and reducing watermain breaks. In addition, the service life of roadways will be extended by decreasing surface drainage while maintenance and repair costs will drop.
