The project involves the development of water supply and sanitation systems, as well as support for the improvement of urban resilience and heritage preservation in Rajasthan, India.The project aims to benefit 68,098 households in selected secondary towns through the installation of 1,451 km of water supply pipes and 1,110 km of sewer pipes. Water supply systems in at least 7 project towns will be improved, including the conversion of groundwater sources to surface water, replacement of leaking water pipes, installation of new water supply pipelines, and connecting 77,000 households with water meters. Additionally, 3 new water treatment plants will be established. Sanitation systems in at least 8 project towns will be upgraded, including the rehabilitation of approximately 580 km of sewers, the construction of 7 sewage treatment plants with co-treatment units, and the connection of over 50,000 households to the sewage system.
