«Seeds of Dissent - Equality, Diversity and Nature in 5 Contemporary and Classic Gems of European Literature» entails the translation, publication, distribution, promotion and dissemination of five works of fiction, unpublished in Portugal, by an independent publishing house that since 1979 strives to bring unknown and underrepresented literary voices to the Portuguese readers, with an editorial and graphic work of excellence. In line with our socially engaged catalogue, we will bring to the Portuguese public mind-changing and thought-provoking readings, voices that deserve to be read and heard, even more in a standardized and mainstream book market. These books have an important role to play in the current world agenda and are relevant to the discussion of themes such as the environment and the world we live in, female representativeness and gender equality, anti-patriarchy and the respect for the self and different viewpoints, as a guarantee to diversity and a call to action Seeds of Dissent aims to disseminate the published works through reading sessions, community theatre and reading clubs in partnership with several socially engaged local associations. Harnessing the power of bibliodiversity for social cohesion and well-being and creating a larger relatability with geographically dispersed and socially underrepresentad target groups, this project will reach local rural comunities in sparsely populated areas, elderly populations, adolescents in schools in deprived urban settings, excluded and vulnerable social groups.
