The Seli’š Ksanka Qlispe’ Project (SKQ) is a hydroelectric facility located on Tribal Land six miles below the natural outlet of Flathead Lake on the Lower Flathead River. Due to unprecedented dry conditions and decreased water supply in the Flathead River Basin, operations at SKQ are at license-required minimums to manage water levels and protect resources. The project is implementing a Drought Management Plan and coordinating with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to capture as much runoff as possible while maintaining minimum river flows and avoiding flood control limits.
