Senegal - Dakar Toll Highway Project

The project consists in the construction, servicing and maintenance of a toll highway between Dakar and Diamniadio (34 km) also serving the new international airport located 42 km from Dakar (Diass). This project is part of the general infrastructure upgrading policy, land use planning and subregional integration of the Senegalese Government. It is considered to be one of the first highways at risk in sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa). The project is structured around the following four components : (i) construction of the highway with toll gates ; (ii) development of the resettlement site; (iii) Pikine-Suburban restructuring ; (iv) management and monitoring of the project implementation.
