Senegal - The Poverty Reduction Strategy Support Programme (PRSSP)

The Poverty Reduction Strategy Support Programme is a budget support aimed at enhancing public finance management and improving the business climate. Through its reform measures, the PASRP will contribute to building the operational capacities of the Finance Departments of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, as well as the organs responsible for procurement. The programme implementation is expected to yield the following results: strengthen budget credibility, greater budget transparency and exhaustiveness and, as regards the budget cycle, extension of the Medium-Term sector Expenditure Framework to all Ministries, strengthen payroll control, public procurement control, as well as observance of quality and compliance with timelines for budget implementation reports. The programme comprises two components, namely: (i) strengthening of public finance management and (ii) improvement of the business climate.
