Description | In September 2002, AAP Infrastructure Ltd. was awarded a 15 year concession contract for the strengthening, widening, and reconstructing the 114 km Seoni-Balaghat-Gondia road by Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited (MPRDC). MPRDC is a wholly owned Madhya Pradesh (MP) state government company responsible for the construction and rehabilitation of MP state roads. Under the contract, investment was made by AAP Infrastructure Ltd. in return for the rights to collect tolls during the term of the contract. AAP Infrastructure Ltd. won the competitive tender, conducted by MPRDC, by bidding the lowest government subsidy/ grant amount of US$ 7.5 million. The total cost of the project was estimated at US$ 12.84 million. Construction of the project was expected to be completed by early 2006. |
