Description | The project involves the construction, operation and maintenance of a 15 MW solar power plant in Khushig valley, Tuv aimag in Mongolia. In addition, it will also include the construction of a 110/10kV substation, a 14-km long 110kV double circuit overhead electricity transmission line, and extension of the 110/10kV Khushig substation owned by the National Power Transmission Grid SOJSC. The SPV Tenuun Gerel Construction LLC is owned by the sponsors - Sermsang Power Corporation Public Company Ltd (Thailand) with 75%, Sharp Energy Solutions Corporation (Japan) with 10%, and AMOE Solar LLC (Mongolia) with 10 % and SH Energy Solution LLC (Mongolia) with 5%. The SPV has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the National Dispatching Center LLC (NDC), a government-owned utility and single purchaser of electricity generated by power producers in Mongolia. Asian Development Bank (ADB) is providing $ 9.6 million from own resources and 9.1 million from Leading Asia's Private Infrastructure Fund (LEAP). Financial close was announced on 20 March 2019.
