Serra da Bodoquena National Park is located 150 km along the border between Brazil and Paraguay. The Park is a Federal Conservation Unit created in 2000 that delimited a total area of approximately 76,481 hectares, covering the municipalities of Bodoquena, Porto Murtinho, Bonito and Jardim, all located in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS). Due to the fact that it is entirely inserted in the Cerrado, but is influenced by the Atlantic Forest and Pantanal biomes, the park has unique characteristics, with rich biodiversity, variety of environments and lush landscapes. This importance made the park the core area of the Pantanal and Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserves, declared, respectively, in 2000 and 1991. ICMBio carried out a Public Consultation on the project, which made the notice and other related documents available, according to Notice of Public Hearing No. 9/2022 published in the Official Gazette of the Union on November 21, 2022. Contributions could be sent between the 21st November 2022 and February 17, 2023, through the electronic form available at http://web.bndes.gov.br/pesquisa/index.php/658419?lang=pt-BR. The Public Hearing was held on February 9, 2023, in the municipality of Bonito/MS and transmitted through the ICMBio channel. Resolutions and Decrees: Resolution No. 157, of December 2, 2020 – Opines for the qualification under the Investment Partnership Program – PPI and for the inclusion in the National Privatization Program – PND of the conservation units Floresta Nacional de Brasília, Parque Nacional da Serra dos Órgãos, Chapada dos Guimarães National Park, Ubajara National Park, Serra da Bocaina National Park, Serra da Capivara National Park, Serra da Bodoquena National Park, Jaú National Park and Anavilhanas National Park, for concession purposes to provide public services to support visitation, with provision for funding actions to support the conservation, protection and management of the aforementioned units. Decree No. 10,673, of April 13, 2021 – Provides for the qualification of conservation units in the Investment Partnership Program of the Presidency of the Republic and their inclusion in the National Privatization Program. CPPI Resolution No. 293, of November 22, 2023 – Opinions for maintaining the qualification of conservation units only within the scope of the Investment Partnership Program of the Presidency of the Republic. Decree No. 11,912, of February 6, 2024 – Provides for the maintenance and revocation of the qualification of conservation units within the scope of the Investment Partnership Program and the exclusion of conservation units from the National Privatization Program.
