Description
Description | Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) – Serbia, together with its partner volleyball clubs: “Desetka” – Serbia, Athlos Orestiadas – Greece, FORCA VOLEJ – North Macedonia, Pula – Croatia, would like to implement project “Serve, Set, Empower: Advancing Equality Through Volleyball” in order to address issues of gender inequality through development of new and innovative guidelines for mixed-gender teams’ volleyball. Volleyball can be an effective pilot for educational activities aimed at gender equality because it inherently supports many aspects of inclusivity. The sport's structure allows for equal participation, with both men's and women's games following largely the same protocols, which helps in teaching that capabilities in sports are not strictly gender based. Mixed-gender teams, especially in beach volleyball, showcase that men and women can collaborate effectively on the same team, promoting mutual respect and breaking down gender stereotypes. Main aim: To promote and improve gender equality in and through volleyball. Specific objectives: • To develop guidelines for promoting gender equality within team sports, specifically volleyball, using non-formal education methods. • To empower youth through volleyball by providing an inclusive and equal opportunity for both girls and boys to participate. • To raise awareness on gender equality issues within local communities through targeted campaigns and workshops involving youth, parents, and coaches. Project activities will be organized in Serbia, Greece, North Macedonia and Croatia. |
