The scheme, formerly known as Biju Setu Yojana, has been extended for the 2026-27 to 2030-31 period with an investment of Rs 11,800 crore. The program aims to complete around 350 bridges annually, covering 3,167 bridge projects including ongoing and new constructions. Priority is given to remote, tribal, and aspirational districts. The Rural Works Organisation will execute the projects with quality monitoring and third-party assessment. |
