The industrial sector contributes 31% to the city’s power consumption, with ship-yards and sea ports being the largest users. In April 2001, Ukraine government announced Vykhodoslovenske Energeticke Sovody (VSE) as the winning bid for Sevastopolmiskenergo Distribution Company. The company serves the city of Sebastopol on the Crimean Peninsula and has 54.4 MW of generation capacity. The winning bid was $18.7 million for a 70% stake. In December 2008, OTP Bank of Ukraine issued a US$ 7.8 million (UAH 41.15 million). As of the end of 2011, VSE holds a 95.2% stake, while the remaining 4.8% is free floating.
