The project involves rehab of main level of historic Monticello High School for reuse as Seven Islands Road Interpretive Museum and Visitor's Center (319 College Street, Monticello, GA). The project involves rehab of the building's main level, 4 classrooms, auditorium, main hallway, and vestibule spaces. Restrooms and an entrance lobby will be constructed in SW classroom. A research library will be constructed in NW classroom. Museum spaces will be constructed in both NE and SE classroom. A curator's office and gift shop will be constructed in separate small rooms, and auditorium will be refinished. Throughout main level, floors, walls, trim, ceilings, fixtures, and hardware will be repaired and repainted. HVAC, electrical, and plumbing improvements will be made. ADA parking and a ramp from parking area to building will be constructed on ground floor. An elevator provides ADA access from ground level to main level. Stairs accessing main floor from ground floor will be refinished.
