Description

Description

SEFF depends on the Institute of Culture and the Arts (ICAS) of Seville City Council. The aim of the Seville Festival is to promote and disseminate European cinema, establishing itself as an annual meeting place for European talent, specialized journalists and industry professionals. More than 160 films will be programmed in both 2025 and 2026, with around 75% of them premiering in Spain in their competitive sections, constituting the starting point for much of the best European auteur cinema to be released in cinemas over the following months. The confidence of the public and the media has also turned Seville into a festival where business is promoted, with the acquisition of rights to films that arrive in Seville without distribution. Initiatives such as the creation of the Alumbramiento (undistributed films) section, or the launch of Frame Seville, will provide the ideal framework for fostering synergies and promoting the growth of the European film industry. In this sense, cash prizes as circulation aid facilitate the closing of deals and allow films from countries with little capacity or from new directors to be released in commercial cinemas. Seville is a festival attended by filmmakers who find themselves in a recognizable ecosystem with perfect dimensions for exchange with the public (more than 90,000 participants, 150 question and answer sessions, seminars, etc.) and specialized in working with new audiences, always in search of innovative strategies.
