Description

Description

The Village of Arcadia operates a sewage treatment lagoon for approximately 200 residents and businesses. The lagoon went into service in 1990 and has been operating continuously since that time. The lagoon receives the raw, untreated sewage from the collection system. The aerated lagoon is divided into 3 cells and has a 30-day detention period. Treated wastewater is released at the discharge point into the Saint River. As part of the treatment process, solids settle to the bottom of the lagoon, and these biosolids build up over time. The purpose of this project is to remove biosolids that have built up on the bottom of the lagoon, as they have now reached the point where there are impeding operation of the lagoon. Removing these biosolids will require the construction of a pad to accommodate the treatment bags, the removal of the biosolids from the bottom of the lagoon, and de-watering the biosolids through filtration bags. These de-watered solids in filtration bags will then be transported to a licensed disposal facility.
