Sewage Pumping Station Rehabilitation

The project will rehabilitate the sewage pumping station in Peawanuck, Ontario. The work will involve the replacement of pumps, panel and level floats, guide rails and piping, and a manhole. In addition, an access ladder and a standby, fixed generator will be installed along with associated electrical work while preparations will be made for the installation of monitoring equipment at a later date. The project will address the frequent equipment failure at the sewage pumping station, which causes overflows of untreated effluent to be released into the nearby river and increases health and safety risks for community residents. The rehabilitated facility will also extend the life of the asset.
