Description | In June 2013, Turkish privatization administration, Ozellestirme Idaresi Baskanligi (OIB) finalized the sale and operating rights transfer agreement of 600 MW Seyitomer Thermal Power Plant (Seyitomer TPP) in Kutahya province to Celikler Seyitomer Elektrik Uretim Sirketi. The thermal power plant is made up of four units with an installed capacity of 600 megawatts. The first two units began operations in 1973 followed by the third unit in 1977 and the final unit became operational in 1990. The project was awarded to local Turkish conglomerate Celikler Holding after it made the highest offer of USD 2,248 million in a competitive bidding conducted by OIB in December 2012. The tender included sale of the 600 MW coal-fired power plant and operating rights for the mine which supplies coal to the plant. Celikler Holding formed Celikler Seyitomer Elektrik Uretim Sirketi as the project company for the operation of the Seyitomer TPP. The project company has also received a generation license from Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). There were 16 groups that took part in the tender - Torunlar-Eren Joint Venture, Dogan Energy, Altek Alarko, D Energy, Ayen Energy, Park Holding, Ozkar Construction, Aksa Energy, Elsan, Limak Construction, Celikler Construction, Eti Bakir, Bilgin Energy-Suba Joint Venture , Kolin Construction, IC Ictas Energy-Fernas Construction Joint Venture and Konya Seker Sanayi- Siyahkalem Engineering. The tender included over five elimination rounds that ended in the final round between Eti Bakir and Celikler. Celikler Seyitomer Elektrik Uretim Sirketi, took over the Seyitomer TPP from the state generation company Elektrik Uretim AS (EUAS) in June 2013. http://www.celiklerholding.com.tr/en/index.html |
