Description

Description

Our main objective with these funds, are to give our European film titles the best possibilities to reach as large a target group in Danish Cinemas, as possible. Competition is very fierce in the cinemas, and over the past couple of years we have seen a polarization in the industry. Best explained by the fact, that big American blockbuster titles do well in the cinemas. Established brands with huge budgets, that communicate clearly with their audience, and that are easy to position towards the audience. Smaller and midsize titles are being squeezed, and it has become harder to stand out and get the ear of the consumers. The films we are working for within this programme are among the small and mid-size titles with smaller marketing budgets, so we must work really hard for them to reach the consumers. With the help of this programme, we stand a better chance of being noticed, and bring something to the public with featuring European culture and substance. And with a smaller budget, we must be very creative, and very sharp in our positioning and in defining our core target audience. By doing that, we can reach out to specific media outlets and work creatively with them to give our movie titles a bigger voice than they would usually have received. We can spend a bit more on marketing, thus giving the films a bigger voice. This could mean sending journalists to junkets to do interviews with the talent among other things. We hope that we with our efforts can open the consumers eyes to European film talent, instead of just focusing on American movies.
