Description | The Sfax Light Rail project is a $882 million public-private partnership aimed at transforming urban mobility in Sfax, Tunisia. It includes 11 kilometers of light rail lines (T1 and T2) and 30 kilometers of Bus Rapid Transit corridors, targeting a 40% reduction in traffic congestion and a 15% cut in carbon emissions by 2030. The project is implemented in phases, with 13.5 kilometers of T1 completed by 2022 and 10.7 kilometers of T2 by 2024. It is backed by the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank, aligning with Tunisia's National Transport Master Plan 2040 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. |
