The project is the third phase of the resilience program for employment-intensive measures (LIWP). It is part of the special initiative for stabilization and development in the Middle East and North Africa (SI MENA), which was launched by the BMZ in 2014. The funds for this project are being implemented in Yemen via the FC partner Social Fund for Development (SFD) using the cash-for-work method and are intended for labor-intensive measures with a wage share of at least 55%. The aim of the FC measure is to contribute to stabilizing Yemen in the current crisis and to improving the resilience of poor population groups in rural areas of the country. By providing poverty-oriented basic infrastructure in various sectors (such as latrines, rainwater collection systems, rural roads, rehabilitation of agricultural land), the SFD is making a significant contribution to alleviating the consequences of the political crisis for the target group and thus contributing to economic and social stabilization in Yemen.
