As part of the SFD water and wastewater program, the basic water and sanitation supplies in the areas particularly affected by the current conflict in Yemen are to be rehabilitated and expanded. The aim of the FC measure is to contribute to a secure drinking water supply and access to adequate sanitation, and thus to improve the health and living conditions of the population in the affected locations. The project is also intended to help mitigate the Covid crisis in Yemen in the medium term. The project covers the whole of Yemen. The individual measures can be carried out in both urban and rural areas, with the focus on rural areas. The target group of the project is therefore both the rural and urban population in the governorates particularly affected by the conflict, which the measures in the current phase are intended to reach (around 88,000 people).
