The project includes the construction of a 55.5-meter high dam with a 7.7 km-long hydel channel, two powerhouses with a total capacity of 206 MW, and three new canals. It will provide irrigation to 5,000 hectares of land in Punjab and ensure continuous irrigation supply to 1.18 lakh hectares under the Upper Bari Doab Canal system. The project also includes the development of a large lake upstream as a tourist destination and a water sports hub. |
