The Shandong Career Development College (project sponsor) in Jining, a developing industrial city, is located in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong. The project sponsor is a higher vocational school and specializes primarily in training courses in technical fields combined with information technology. The vocational school wants to meet the growing demand for well-trained skilled workers by offering more practice-oriented teaching and by expanding capacity. The project includes the procurement of teaching and learning materials and the construction of a teaching building with workshops and laboratories. This will increase the practical training component by 30% over the next five years. The number of students is also expected to rise by 10% to 15,000. The adult education courses are also expected to be taken up by 3,200 people in 2020. 2,000 people are currently taking part. The teaching and learning materials are fully financed from the FZ funding loan of EUR 20.0 million. The remaining funds will be used to co-finance the new building.
