On July 9, 2011, a local private company Beijing Sound Environment Industry Group signed an agreement with Junan County Government to expand and operate two wastewater treatment plants in Junan County, Shandong Province. Beijing Sound pays the local government RMB 26 million to run the 1st phase of Longwanghe Wastewater Treatment Plant with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per day and invest RMB 32 million to construct and operate the 2nd phase with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day. Beijing Sound also pays RMB 53 million to run the New District Wastewater Treatment Plant with a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day and invests 26 million to double its capacity. Both plants serve both household and industrial customers (their propositions are unknown, but since the plants serve a population of 100,000, it should meet the database criterion). Beijing Sound was granted the agreement following an open bidding process. It will run the facilities for 29 years.
