Description | In January 2001, Saur International (a subsidiary of Bougyues) was awarded a 28-year concession contract for the operation of a drinking water treatment plant in a district southwest of Shanghai. The facility had a production capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day and supplied drinking water to about 700,000 people in Fengxian. To implement the contract, Shanghai Fengxian Saur Water (SFSW) was created as the project company which was jointly owned by Saur and a local state-owned company. In November 2004, Bouygues sold its water sector arm, Saur, to PAI Partners (a private equity firm). Saur invested US$10.3 million in its equity participation of the project company.
