Shared Ground – A Contemporary Reading of the Greek Village

unbuilt

Shared Ground is a hospitality proposal by Aristides Dallas Architects that reinterprets the spatial intelligence of traditional Greek settlements through a contemporary architectural language. The masterplan is organized as a dispersed settlement following the site's natural topography, with buildings positioned and rotated according to the terrain. Accommodation units are grouped into three residential typologies organized into small neighborhood clusters around shared outdoor spaces, with communal gathering areas and a central elevated public square housing the main restaurant, café, and retail spaces. The project emphasizes architecture emerging from the landscape and fostering community interaction while preserving privacy.
