Sheffield Heat Network Development Partner

The project is a preliminary market engagement for a major future procurement by Sheffield City Council to appoint a Development Partner who will create proposals for a large-scale zonal heat network in the Sheffield area. As part of the UK government’s Advanced Zoning Programme, the council has already identified a reference scheme and is looking for a partner to further develop and present a design for a heat network that could serve an area with an estimated annual heat demand of up to 1,300 GWh. If selected, the Development Partner would enter into a Development Agreement Only arrangement to draft proposals that meet minimum technical and strategic criteria, subject to council approval, setting the groundwork for potential future construction and delivery of a low-carbon heat distribution network across the zone.
