Description

On October 2007, Atlas power an Independent Power Producer, was signed a Build Own and Operate agreement with PRIVATE POWER & INFRASTRUCTURE BOARD (PPIB) for the construction and operation for a 10 years term of a 225 MW, Diesel power plant at Sheikhupura. The contractor was a joint venture between Atlas power (Pakistan, 50 %) and Man diesel (Germany, 50%). Under the BOO agreement, Atlas Power was to supply 225 MW of energy to 3 for a term of 10 years. The remainder of the energy was to be sold to the public. The project was to consist of a 17MW steam turbine and 11 diesel generators of 19MW each. Siemens was to be the equipment supplier of the transformers as well as the distribution systems. Following a direct negotiation process, Atlas Power was awarded to set up a 225 MW Diesel power plant at Sheikhupura. The total project cost was 225 US millions. The project reached financial closure in June 2007, when the construction reached 25%, after a local presse publication. According to the deal, Atlas Power will take care of the plant construction while MAN Diesel will provide the diesel generator that runs it. sponsor MAN Diesel missing in the database
