Information Department of water resources-MH - II has come up with Shelgaon Barrage Medium Project with a ticket size of 879.49 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project This Project was included under ?Special Package of Central Assistance to complete 83 Surface Minor Irrigation [SMI] projects and 8 major/Medium Irrigation Projects? in suicide prone districts in Vidarbha and Marathwada and rest of Maharashtra region of the state of Maharashtra in July 2018. The Central Assistance provided is 25percentage reimbursement of expenditure incurred on works component by Government of Maharastra. The Shelgaon Barrage Medium irrigation Project is being constructed on river Tapi near village Shelgaon, Taluka & District Jalgaon in the State of Maharashtra. The project envisages construction of 419.65 m long spillway with 18 No of radial gates of size 18.30 m x 16.76 m [each], a 495 m long left side earthen embankment & 67 m long saddle earthen embankment with a top width of 7.5 m and Lift irrigation scheme [LIS] for irrigation. The gross storage and live storage of the project is 116.366 MCM and 110.348 MCM respectively. During inclusion of Project under Special Package in 2018 Balance Cost of the project [works] as on 01/04/2018 was Rs 535.45 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 149.08 crore CA released till November 2023 - Rs 135.265 crore Physical progress- 91.00 percentage Financial Progress- 116 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 11318 Ha Irrigation Potential created till June 2023 - Nil Projected Date of Completion- June 2024
