Shell EV-Plus Thermal Liquid Battery Cooling Solution
Sector: Geothermal • Location: London, GB
Source: This is Money
Shell Lubricants has developed a proprietary immersion cooling fluid using Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) technology that allows electric vehicle (EV) batteries to charge from 10 to 80% in under 10 minutes without compromising safety, lifespan, or performance. The technology reduces thermal stresses on the battery by allowing higher cell charging currents and facilitates excellent heat transfer by filling in

Description
Description | Shell Lubricants has developed a proprietary immersion cooling fluid using Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) technology that allows electric vehicle (EV) batteries to charge from 10 to 80% in under 10 minutes without compromising safety, lifespan, or performance. The technology reduces thermal stresses on the battery by allowing higher cell charging currents and facilitates excellent heat transfer by filling interstitial spaces within the battery pack. Developed in collaboration with RML Group, this solution aims to reduce charging times and address EV adoption barriers such as charging speed and range anxiety. |
