The Shenzhen Metro Line 4 Phase 2 is approximately 15.8 km long, consisting of approximately 5 km of underground section and 10.8 km of at-grade and elevated section. The total project cost is approximately RMB 6.0 billion (US$ 732.60 million), which is 100% funded by MTR Corporation. The project was expected to complete by September 2009. MTR has established a subsidiary company in Shenzhen, MTR Corporation (Shenzhen) Limited, to undertake the project management of this investment project in Shenzhen. The project also involved the acquisition of property development rights from the Shenzhen Municipal Government along Line 4 with an aggregate gross floor area of 2.9 million m2. On 26 May 2005, MTR Corporation initialed a 30 year concession agreement with Shenzhen Municipal Government on the investment, construction and operation of Shenzhen Metro Line 4. The construction of the project commenced in November 2005.
