Sherco Solar 1 Solar Farm Expansion and Grazing Program

Sherco Solar 1 is Minnesota's largest solar farm located in Clear Lake, Minnesota, featuring over half a million solar panels on nearly 1,500 acres. The project includes an ecologically-friendly vegetation management program using a flock of Katahdin sheep for grazing, known as 'lamb-scaping', to maintain the solar array and promote environmental benefits. The solar farm is planned to expand to 1.5 million solar panels spanning 5,000 acres by 2026, making it one of the largest solar facilities in the country and one of the state's largest restored prairies.
