Information Ministry of Coal has come up with Shivpur-Kathautia New Rail [BG] Line [49 km] [Package II of Tori-Shivpur-Kathautia line] with a ticket size of 1799.64 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Shivpur-Kathutia [49 km] new rail line is package II of the overall Tori-Shivpur-Kathautia line which will enhance coal evacuation in the region especially from green field area of North Karanpura Coalfield of CCL in the State of Jharkhand. The line is likely to provide coal evacuation capacity of about 125 MT by rail and play major role in eliminating coal transportation by road. This 49 km line will provide another exit for coal evacuation via Koderma to the trunk railway line from Howrah to Delhi. Execution has been undertaken in the SPV mode by setting up a Joint Venture, Jharkhand Central Railway Ltd [JCRL] under Participative policy of Ministry of Railways. The company JCRL is having equity participation of Central Coalfield Ltd [CCL], IRCON and State Government of Jharkhand in the ratio of 64-26-10. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.1799.64 crore which is to be met by equity and debt of the JV Company, JCRL. Detailed Project Report [DPR] has been approved by Railways along with the proposal of inflated mileage. Concession Agreement has already been signed between JCRL and East Central Railway. Engineering Scale Plan [ESP] of all the station has been approved. Design and drawing of the project line is in the final stage. Land Acquistion and Financial closure is in process- Project SPV, JCRL is in the process of finalization of debt from Banks/Financial Institution to achieve financial closure, which is targeted to be arrived in this year 2020 itself. Target date for completion [TDC] for the project would be 3 years after financial closure. finance closure has been achieved on 05-05-2022. The TDC is 31-05-2025.
