Description | The 450-MW Shongtong-Karcham hydroelectric project located on the Satluj river in Himachal Pradesh aims to enhance the state's power generation capacity and promote sustainable development. The project includes key civil components such as the barrage, headrace tunnel, and powerhouse structures, with electro-mechanical works progressing in phases. Once completed, it is expected to generate around 1,579 million units of electricity annually and contribute nearly Rs 900 crore annually to the state's economy. |
