"SOS involves 6 organisations located in ""talent trap regions"": areas experiencing a youth exodus, leading to a declining working-age population, low numbers of graduates, and challenges in retaining talents. The project aims to develop concrete solutions and support policy changes informed by young people and aimed at rural areas, working in participatory and bottom-up way with young people and local communities, using integrated methodologies that promote active engagement and collective growth, Paulo Freire's Participatory Action-Research (PAR), combined with Danilo Dolci's Reciprocal Maieutic Approach (RMA). Youth teams will analyse and narrate migration experiences of their community as a basis for concretely planning solutions for creating the condition to prevent rural places’ abandonment. By addressing the social, economic, and cultural dimensions of migration, generated community-driven narratives will set the basis for the development of the two main project results: a geo-localised podcast and a Policy & Action Proposals Paper, both aimed to give voice to youth, providing a platform of visibility for their – and their rural territories – needs, resources and perspectives. Thus, SOS actively seeks to implement the EU Youth Goal #6 ""Moving Rural Youth Forward"": creating conditions for young people to realize their potential in rural areas, by: - developing young people's skills in community leadership and engagement; -improving the attractiveness potential of rural areas through the valorisation of local resources and experiences through the development of geo-localised podcasts; -facilitating synergies between youth organisations in rural and remote areas in Europe and provide opportunities for mobility, training, and active engagement for young people; - influencing decision-making and policies concerning rural and remote areas in a way that is more informed by the needs of young people, for effective change at European level.
