Description | The proposed Shree Jagannath International Airport in Puri, Odisha, has received Stage-I forest clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) for diversion of 27.887 hectares of forest land. The airport will be constructed in three phases with an estimated cost of Rs 5,631 crore and is expected to handle around 4.6 million passengers annually after completion. The first phase is under a public-private partnership model costing Rs 2,200 crore, with the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) awarded the tender for the initial phase. |
