The Shrub Hill Quarter regeneration project is a large-scale, long-term urban redevelopment initiative in Worcester, UK, driven by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with Worcester City Council and the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership. It aims to transform a roughly 14-hectare under-utilised area adjacent to Shrub Hill railway station and the city centre into a vibrant new mixed-use neighbourhood that integrates housing, employment, public space and improved transport connections. The project involves clearing existing industrial buildings, creating new pedestrian and cycle links, and redeveloping key sites to deliver over 500 new homes, around 5,000 jobs, enhanced public realm and green spaces, and opportunities for commercial, retail and community uses, all anchored by improved connectivity to the city centre and rail network. It seeks to establish Shrub Hill as a dynamic gateway into Worcester that supports sustainable living, working and leisure activity while celebrating the area’s heritage and boosting local economic growth.
