The Project consists of the development, construction, and operation of a greenfield 131 MW wind farm located in the municipality of Stip (eastern North Macedonia), approximately 75 km south-east of the capital, Skopje. The Project consists of 21 wind turbine generators, each with a nominal capacity of approximately 6-8 MW and related connection infrastructure (a 35/400 kV substation and a new 7 km 400 kV overhead transmission line that will link the substation to the existing transmission network). This Project is the first phase out of three across the wider project area, with a secured combined connection capacity of up to 396 MW and an expected total of 54 wind turbines. The combined phases will install about 68 km of 35 kV buried cables along internal roads to connect the wind turbines to the 35/400 kV substation. The first phase will be developed by STP WIND DOOEL Skopje (the “Borrower”), which is a North Macedonian SPV fully-owned by Alcazar Energy Partners II SLP (SCSp) (the “Sponsor”). The Sponsor is a sustainable infrastructure fund, specialising in utility-scale renewable energy developments across emerging markets. The Project will support the country’s commitment to phase out coal by 2030 and increase the share of renewables in its energy mix. The Project also advances an inclusive transition by establishing a new green skills training initiative, developed jointly with the Borrower, supporting local workforce development.
