Sibchallange Telecom, a major independent fixed line telecommunications operator in Krasnoyarsk. It provides fixed-line service (also in CDMA-800 standard), as well as data, and Internet services. The company’s network in Krasnoyarsk included a switchboard, 127 km of fiber optic cable, 170 km of copper cable and more than 30 points of presence in the city. The company also served about 8,000 cellular subscribers by 2003. Sibchallenge Telecom launched a wireless CDMA network in the city in 2001 with a capacity of 7,500 numbers. The cost of the project was US$2 million. The network was based on LG Electronics CDMA equipment, which allows to increase network capacity to 30,000 numbers. Sibchallenge Corporation owned 68% stake in Sibchallenge Telecom.
