The company also served about 8,000 cellular subscribers by 2003. Sibchallenge Telecom launched a wireless CDMA network in the city in 2001 with a capacity of 7,500 numbers. The cost of the project was US$2 million. The network was based on LG Electronics CDMA equipment, which allows to increase network capacity to 30,000 numbers. Sibchallenge Corporation owned 68% stake in Sibchallenge Telecom.
