Description

Description

The City will repair and replace pedestrian facilities on 15th Avenue NE between NE 155th Street and NE 175th Street. The project will repair sidewalk panels damaged by tree roots, cracking, and settlement, and curb ramps will be upgraded to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Other improvements include removing barriers, such as grinding lifted sidewalk panels and upgrading non-ADA compliant stormwater grates. This project is part of the Sidewalk Rehabilitation Program, which provides repair and replacement of existing pedestrian facilities located in the public right-of-way. Sidewalk rehabilitation projects are prioritized based on the City’s ADA Transition Plan, which developed priorities for sidewalk repair and replacement based on a combination of the severity of sidewalk damage and the need for accessibility in that location. The program is funded through annual vehicle license fees.
