1. The project consists of (i) financing permanent working capital requirements, mainly accounts receivable and inventory, and (ii) the modernization and expansion of Sigma S.A.’s different divisions to maintain quality and provide production flexibility. The project also includes the final stage of the implementation of a new management information system that should allow for better management of working capital requirements, control of the business cycle, and customer relations. Sigma S.A. seeks to maintain its market share in Central American countries and gain market share in Mexico, the Caribbean, and other markets. The project will enable Sigma S.A. to produce products that some of its major clients are asking for and that it cannot produce at present.2. Sigma S.A. is a successful Salvadoran multinational manufacturer with a long track record in the region and offers comprehensive product packaging, advertising, and presentation solutions to its clients. The group also provides solutions in the areas of graphic printing, corrugated and plastic packaging, and printing inks and dyes for product packaging and presentation materials.3. The IIC will support Sigma S.A.'s operations with a long-term loan. The IIC and the Sigma S.A. group have had a good banking relationship since the early nineties. This is the IIC's second operation with Sigma S.A. and its third with an affiliated company. Sigma S.A. has met all of the loan requirements, including compliance with environmental and labor standards.
